A night out with... ME

Okay remember that episode of Gossip Girl 'Hi Society' where Blair tells Serena that the New York Times have chosen her for 'A night out with' every time I watch it I think how cool is that?! But...

Is this a real thing?

I was intrigued by this idea. This maybe very naive of me but I wanted to find out whether The New York Times ran 'a night out with feature' or Schwartz, Safran and Savage used their poetic license to create a sensational idea. Several hours spent in the depth of the internet and the NY Times database I have discovered that it is...............................(lots of dramatic ellipses for suspense) TRUE. Crazy right? I fo' sure thought that it was made up. So basically the premise is they follow celebrities from the likes of Chrissy Teigen, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Will Arnett, Kristen Bell and Maroon 5 to name a few, around for the night. This concept excites me, as a self professed nosey parker these articles are so interesting it's a free VIP all access pass into how they spend their evenings.

Bringing my next level extraness to the table (and blog) I've decided that you lucky lot can spend not just a night with me, oh no I'm obviously more interesting than some of Hollywood's elite so one night is not enough! You lot can spend a WHOLE weekend with me! (I'm so kind!) Don't worry though this isn't just an ordinary Netflix and Chill weekend this is my final weekend before I jet off on that beautiful boat for six months (what you're shocked that I'm going on a cruise? I know I've not mentioned it before 🙄)

Me on Thursday night realising my PJ's won't quite cut it this weekend.

Friday

Friday Friday got to get down on Friday (Yes I did just quote Rebecca Black and yes I apologise) So lets start with one of the most exciting things I did this Friday/this weekend/ever ... I got my teeth whitened! Omg it was extraordinary I felt like the long lost Kardashian sister sitting there in the dentist chair (Just call me Kammie! 😉) Honest to god I'm so impressed with them and the liklihood is if you bump into me in the streets the first thing out of my mouth will be "look I've got my teeth whitened!"

Friday night was as equally fabulous. It started off with my best friend Louise coming to do my makeup- living that Kardashian fantasy with my own glam squad and she did a sensational job. Now before I go on I just want to make sure you're all sitting down for this next part and you're not drinking anything (in case you spit it out) because no your eyes aren't deceiving you this Friday on the 23rd February I went to a rugby match and enjoyed it! My first and last match of the season.

We were slightly late so missed out on having actual wolves in my dads box- how cool is that? Apparently they do some sort of promo shoots for Game of Thrones, so I missed the chance to be in the same room as someone who has met Rob Stark and Jon Snow GUTTED. I knew a solid 5% of people in the box but it is always nice to have a catch up with Louise, Alison and Carol over a few glasses of wine (however, I had to stick to clear liquids) I really need to applaud everyone though on their fashion choices! I mean the ladies looked stylish (but they always do) and all the men looked very dapper! I do love when a man makes an effort and wears a blazer! The food was nice enough but truth be told all I'm after at the Warrington match is a Hollands Meat and Potato Pie. Classy I know.

The Moody's serving GLAM-MOOOR

Now the game... if you're looking for a full match report you're not going to get one here but, I do know that we won 16-10 and we were 16-0 for a while (woohoo). I also know which players have the nicest bums and legs and it I know that it was freaking FREEZING (Summer rugby my a*se). Warrington played really well in my opinion they looked hungry for it and the new signings look promising! So Warrington I applaud you for actually turning up for the season! 👏🏼

I will say though if you ever get a chance to go to a rugby league game I would strongly recommend watching Warrington play at home. The atmosphere and the fans are electric (promise I'm not biased)

Saturday

Oh this was such an exciting day! Well once I eventually woke up I got to go bridesmaid dress shopping! Have you ever been wedding dress or bridesmaid shopping?! It is so fun! It's bizarre because it's not like any other shopping it has a certain unicorn, mermaid magical air to it. The bridesmaid dresses were painted in beautiful colours and it was so nice to meet all the bridesmaids (officially) and can I just say they are absolute STUNNAHS so you know no pressure at all 🙄Trying on bridesmaid dresses was an absolute pleasure and I am so lucky that the bride to be (aka my future sister-in-law) is so lovely and genuinely wants us all to the look nice in a dress so I know I wont be walking / concentrating on not falling down the aisle like this...

So not quite sure but think we might've found the unicorn dress (a dress that somehow manages to flatter everyone) I head home to start my serious prep for a night out!

I do love getting ready for a night out but always prefer it when I can have a cat nap! living that granny life 2k18. So in case you were wondering what my going out prep is- I mean who isn't right? let me run you through it...

  1. If I'm having a leisurely glam I like to do a face mask but today I was a little pushed for time so I started with my Kiehl's Ultra Facial cream SPF 30 . This moisturiser is dreamy, it smells amazing and is easy to apply, the bonus to this cream is it helps give my skin an extra glow.

  2. Next I apply my Make Up Revolution highlighter in Rose Gold I have started to develop a collection of these in every colour and honestly I love them. I can guarantee that every time I have this on under my foundation I will get a compliment on my skin and the pipette applicator makes me feel very scientific (not quite sure why but it does).

  3. If light coverage foundation that leaves your skin feeling dewy and fresh is your product of choice then Nars Sheer Glow Foundation is a must. Honest to gawwd this foundation is my favourite. I've tried others but I keep going back to this one it is mesmerising. If you haven't guessed already I did my foundation next.

  4. I like to contour with Models Co contour stick and Makeup Revolution concealer. (click here to see why I love this product so much). Whilst I leave that to bake (yes I can use makeup terms like a pro-ish) I concentrated on my eyebrows. Side note how annoying are eyebrows I aim for Cara Delevingne and look more like Eugene Levy (google it). Anyway I use Anastasia Beverly Hills for my eyebrows because I'm basic af and I do not care.

  5. I bronze for the gods with Chanel and imo there is no better blush that Nars Orgasm- just a bit awkward asking for an orgasm at the counter yes, that was a horrendous dad joke I apologise. I would like to say a personal thank you to Urban Decay's Naked 3 Palette and Too Faced's Better than Sex mascara for really raising my eye game. Thanks guys 👍🏻

  6. Finishing touches YSL blue eyeliner in my waterline and Rimmel black stamp eyeliner (making wings easy for this blind girl since 2017) and making my fairy dust fantasies come true Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Palette is my go to product (not tagged because it is limited edition).

I wonder if Mary Berry would approve of this baking?

I was so excited to wear my outfit. I have been looking for a Pyjama style suit for MONTHS and my mum spotted this little beaut from Missguided. It's not for the faint hearted but I brownie promise it is one of the most comfiest things I have ever worn and I felt sexy in it which to me is mind blowing because it is very covered up. I accessorised with my Bimba y Lola orange clutch, my gold wrap around River Island gladiators (which were actually pointless tonight cause you can't see it) and ASOS earrings. My girls arrived for our night out extravaganza (looking so hot 🔥) we were off to Manchester. Cue cutting it very close to missing our train, the conductor taking his sweet baby Jesus time giving us our tickets and change and two of us having to run for the train- thank god it wasn't me because I'd still be running.

We were going for my leaving meal at the Alchemist. It was bloody freezing but after dealing with one 'hilarious' (rude) taxi driver we finally arrived at the restaurant. Upon entering the bar side (the only entrance) I was slightly worried because it was so loud and I thought we wouldn't be able to hear ourselves talk however, after battling through the crowds to the maitre'd we were escorted to a cute little booth in the restaurant side which was a lot quieter.

Cocktails at the Alchemist are a definite must but, the menu can be a little intimidating so I would suggest that you either look before you go or when the friendly wait staff ask do you know what you want to drink you ask for five more minutes. The cocktails are so cool every wanna be blogger's (aka me) dream. Armed with my new duo LuMee case I was that annoying girl on instagram and snapchat (Also on the table) taking pictures of every single cocktail "wait don't drink it yet I haven't got a picture"/ "oh lets take another boomerang of our cheers I didn't like that one" could be frequently heard leaving my mouth on Saturday.

Okay I didn't have all of the cocktails but I've compiled a list of what I drank.

Cocktails I'd recommend:

bubble bath- tastes nicer than it sounds it was fruity yet fresh!

white cosmo- so pretty (I love a good Carrie Bradshaw moment)

Mad Hatters- This cocktail is a show stopper, we saved this cocktail for last and WOW was it impressive. From the 'boiling the kettle', the china tea cups to drink out of and the dry ice I have honestly never seen a cocktail that was more made for instagram than this.

Cocktails I wouldn't recommend:

Grapefruit and Apricot Martini- Has a similar taste to perfume.

Screwball- Okay I didn't exactly have this one, one of the girls did and they liked it but said it was so sickly (and not in a good 'I've had lots of alcohol' way)

The Ball Breaker- Again didn't have this one either. But, the girl who had it said when breaking the ball it went everywhere (including on her dress)

I am so lucky to have friends who like to eat (not that you can tell by looking at their figures) We chose the crispy kale and popcorn chicken to share. It was definitely a good shout because whenever I start to drink I always get peckish! The crispy kale was very nice but the popcorn chicken was my favourite the sriracha mayo was definitely sent from the food gods. We all ordered Katsu Chicken Curry with rice and crispy kale. Being a fan of Japanese cuisine I consider myself a bit of a connoisseur of the katsu, my standards are very high. It was truly spectacular but weirdly the stand out part of the dish was the rice and crispy kale (keep wanting to type Krispy Kale) Brava to your chefs Alchemist Brava

Overall Rating: I would definitely give The Alchemist 9.5/10 reasonably priced, great food and the cocktails were extraordinary!

After The Alchemist we danced the night away accompanied with tequila shots (always a fabulous idea... at the time)

Special mention award goes to...

Albert Schloss

I love a place that has a free photo booth (located near the toilets) it also has live music on a Saturday fo'sure (and I think a Friday but don't quote me) the staff also are super friendly!

***Can we just raise a glass to me for saying no to the Mc Donalds at the end of the night because it was past 9pm! New Years Res going strong.

Sunday

Woke up this morning feeling like death warmed up.

Wondering why I didn't wake up fresh then looking at my snapchat story and remembering the Mad Hatters and Tequila.

Hangovers are never good. I had my tried and tested hangover cure- Uncle Ben's Savoury chicken rice with medium Nandos sauce but it didn't work. I also tried to blog but, I had lost the ability to function like a normal human being hence why this blog is slightly late (oops). Finally a bacon sandwich with Harry Potter sorted me out. The highlight was definitely remembering that my little gem Demi had bought me a cupcake that I devoured whilst watching Survival of the Fittest. My mum had whipped up one of her famous roasts but after demolishing her roasties (truly legendary) and my favourite stuffing (paxo you genuinely can't beat it) I couldn't face any more food. The only true cure for this hangover was to sleep the day away 14 hours later I woke up and it was Monday.

When the cupcake is that cute it deserves its own photoshoot.

Hope you enjoyed reading about my weekend as much as I loved living it.

xoxo
