Motivation starting to fade...

Okay so we are comfortably one month into 2018 and this is the time where I normally tend to fall off the wagon with my New Years Resolution; the temptation of crisps, chocolate and CARBS are normally too much for me. But not this year, not for this girl! Consider this New Year New Me (cue eye rolls)

Not to brag but I am so proud of myself! -Well someone has to be. I'm not going to pretend that every morning I wake up and do burpees, drink protein shakes and refuse all carbs (I will never refuse carbs!)

Sometimes motivation does start to fade and those créme egg adverts look far too tempting so these are some of the techniques that I am using to help me stay focussed...

1. New gym gear... Nothing makes me more excited to get in the gym or working out (at home) than new gym gear. Now I am fully aware that money is always slightly tight this time of the year but, there are some excellent items that don't harm your bank account. Matalan have outdone themselves this year with gym wear and Primark have a beautiful selection of workout clothes with collabs from insta fitness goddess Alice Liveing. These are a few of my favourites...

2. Weigh yourself... stepping on those scales is always a scary, daunting experience. Seeing those numbers creep up is not my ideal way to spend every morning. However, for me I need to see them. (Preferably going down) For me it works both ways when I lose weight it spurs me on to keep up the progress and if I put some weight on that helps to keep me motivated in the gym.

3. Targets, aims, goals... whether it is a girls holiday, a dress you want to fit into or to feel confident in yourself. T.A.G. should always be attainable and realistic. I learnt the hard way in previous years wanting to lose one stone in a short amount of time. But this year I took some advice from my form tutors and set my self S.M.A.R.Targets. Although I would love to be where I am by March it is not realistic or healthy but Feb 2019 I'm coming for you!

4. Quotes... Oh I do love a cheesy inspiration quote. Pinterest is my bread and butter. When I'm working out and having a breather, my phone's open and I'm searching Pinterest for my next motivational hit. For some reason I love a good quote it gets pinned to my board and I'm back on that treadmill.

5. Cheat day... What cheat day? surely not. It was the beautiful Gigi Hadid who said "Eat clean to stay fit. Eat a burger to stay fit" and if it's good enough for Gigi well... My mum always told me you should never deny yourself and she's right if I want some chocolate I allow myself, it's just learning instead of having five fabulous fingers at a time, have one because normally that is all I'm craving. Moderation is the best word to use to describe my diet; I would hate for my diet to impact on my social life it's just learning that in one weekend a KFC, chippy and Chinese isn't going to get me my #summerbod
